Educational Objectives:

  • Review the clinical aspects of the studied topics
  • Identify the role, advantages and limitations of radiological imaging
  • Identify the role, advantages and limitations of nuclear medicine techniques
  • Prepare a draft for diagnostic flow-charts of the covered conditions
  • Establish the basis for the preparation of joint diagnostic guidelines in 2013
The symposium is dedicated to establish relationships with clinicians, radiologists and other specialists in the field of infection, with the ultimate goal to build up diagnostic guidelines in infectious conditions of general interest. At the end of the symposium, the audience should become more familiar with the current indications of radiolabelled white cells and monoclonal antibodies, as well as 18F-FDG PET-CT, and be able to identify the best procedure among the general imaging armamentarium in infectious disorders.
